TSA Threat Assessment and Credentialing (TSA TTAC)
Federated is responsible for building and managing the TSA’s Threat Assessment and Credentialing Center where threat assessments will be conducted and managed for the estimated 1.5 million transportation workers in the United States. The Transportation Security Administration is responsible for protecting the nation’s transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement of people and commerce. The Security Threat Assessments (STAs) Federated personnel provide is required for individuals applying for credentials or access to the nation’s transportation system. These services include conducting automated biographic and biometric background checks of criminal records, immigration records and intelligence-related information. Our Analysts, Investigators and Adjudicators determine potential disqualifications for criminal offenses, immigration issues, links to terrorism and/or mental competencies based on fingerprint-based Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal history records check (CHRC), a check for open wants and warrants, an intelligence related check, and an immigration/citizenship status check.
